The capital and the towns around it — Marchamalo, Cabanillas del Campo, Yunquera de Henares and Chiloeches — form a continuous area along the Henares valley. Which way it goes

From Guadalajara to Madrid the road is the A-2, which runs past Alcalá and Torrejón de Ardoz and gets heavy in the morning rush; the R-2 toll road is the alternative, reaching the M-40 from the north. Barajas lies along the A-2, with no need to cross the city.

From Guadalajara, Barajas is the most convenient airport anywhere in Castilla-La Mancha: it sits on the east side of Madrid, the same side as the A-2, and is reached without crossing the city. What most affects journey time is the traffic between Alcalá and Torrejón.

When demand peaks

• Holiday departures (Easter, summer, long weekends and Christmas): At the start and end of holidays, transfers to Barajas from the corridor and the capital rise sharply and the A-2 gets busy in both directions. First-thing flights are the first to fill up with bookings.

Tip: From the corridor to Barajas the drive is short, but the A-2 between Alcalá and Torrejón jams at rush hour: for morning flights it is better to leave before it starts.

Airport pickup

For arrivals, the driver waits in the terminal with a name sign and helps with your luggage. We track the flight number, so a delay costs nothing extra within the terminal’s complimentary waiting time.

For early flights

We recommend leaving Chiloeches at least 74 minutes before you want to be at the check-in desk. We operate through the night, always with an advance booking.
